Door handle/lock problems.
Ever since I had my truck repainted I have had a problems with my door handles and locks. I had the guy install new exterior handles when he painted the truck. He told me he couldn't get things to work right and gave me a deal on the price. To unlock/open the driver's door I need to turn the key and pull up on the handle while the key is still turned. Just turning the key doesn't unlock the door(s). The passenger door lock feels very rough when unlocking the door and sometimes the key gets stuck in the cylinder. The door lock buttons on the armrests work intermittently. I tore open the passenger door but can't see what might have been affected by changing the door handle assembly. The lock cylinders are original.

Sounds like at some point your guy may have bent one of the rods that connects the lock cylinders to the door opening mechanisms? I would guess that the rod that goes from the flange on the end of the lock cylinder down to the actuator on the left side of the door is maybe bent and by pulling up on the handle you are maybe giving it enough to pull the rod?
If the key gets stuck inside the cylinder, I'd bet that there is maybe something foreign in there? You said you've already taken the passenger door apart, so you know how to remove the cylinders, right? I'd suggest possibly finding a pair of cylinders in a junkyard and swapping for those. It'd
also be a good idea to try and source those control rods at the same time. FWIW, I need one from the driver's side if you come across 'em
