Does Airfolw Throught The Evaporator Get Restricted?

I want to check the heater-A/C unit in my truck while it is in place. The aiflow coming out of the vents just does not seem as forceful as it should. All of the cables and blend doors are adjusted properly and the fan works fine on all speeds. Is it possible to drop the fan out of the way and peer into the cooling unit to see if it is clogged up with junk?
Have any of you folks had a problem with clogged evaporators and if soo how did you clean them?
Thanx,
Bud

im looking to do this job too, mine seems to be cloged.i talk to an a/c tech and he says that if i want to clean the cooling unit i have to discharge the a/c system and disconet the lines to drop the unit.so that will be a big PITA.maybe someone have other ideas to clean this unit.

if u pull the motor i think u can see in a little, but the area u really want to see you will need to pull some of the dash and part of the box, had to open the box and thought it was going to break it but didnt, but was able to get in and clean it and vacuum it out.

no good way to really clean it unless you remove the evaporator... the mechanic is right

well found something that maybe can help..
1.BG frigi-clean (maybe in advance auto)
2.petro chemical a/c power foam
somehow those chemicals acts like a foam thne they disolve and drain trough the a/c drain pipe, well i think first of all i will try first with a vacum to get the big debris and leafs, then try this stuff.
