I think its a matter of what you want first. The gears that dual t-cases gives is awesome but to fully use them you need traction. Suspension and lockers. The down side of lockers is extra traction and throttle (not having lower gears) equals broken parts. Drive line mods are expensive. Keep an eye out on craiglist, I've gotten some good deals there, but use caution.

If its just a 4 wheeler, and your on a budget, why not buy lower t case gears. It sounds like you go into the woods, fool around and come home. If you did longer 4wd trips, then duals would be better.

Yeah I don't do long 4wd trips. My plan is to buy this...http://www.trail-gear.com/transfercase-gears.html (didn't realize they had this!) and have fun. I do fool around a lot in the woods. lol. And also I'll probably get 5.29 gears.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Sounds perfect for you. I wouldn't bother regearing your diffs if it's a budget offroader. You won't notice much unless you spend much time in 4th or 5th on the highway for long periods, which is doesn't sound like you do. Buy two auto lockers, the low range 4.7 gears, armour, and tires, forget diff gears (though I'd tighten up the BL) and lift, they won't do much for you.

I like the fact that trail-gear has a downloadible 4.7 do it yourself vid. I just d/l'd it and watched it, seems very easy to do in your garage......

wow...you know me better than I know myself. lol. Probably don't need to re gear either. Repaint is a must for me though

Definitely gonna get new tranny + transfer case and gears for transfer case. lol. Should be pretty sweet. And leafs...not sure if Chevy's will be high enough though. (wanna get rid of those nasty blocks!)

3" would be plenty. you could add an inch or 2 from shackles if you want but having it sit a little low in the rear isnt bad cause you can trim it up real easy and it lowers your center of gravity. guess it just depends on if you want looks or function

the chevy springs flex real nice and theyre not stiff at all (so ive heard.. i should be picking mine up this week i got paid yesterday!)
