Guys,

I tore into the dash of my 90 xtra cab DLX 4WD truck, the PO had cut the access window for the digital clock, and had attempted to glue it back, which didn't hold, I got tired quickly of seeing that rectangle dangle with the cord holding it in place.

While looking for a replacement control cover, I came across a clock fairly cheap from an online source, $15

I've plugged it in and it works, for how long I don't know but for now its great.

My question is that the clock as two tabs, I assume for mounting, but they do not seem to line up with anything, the clock fits in the hole nice, but how do I secure it? Am I missing a piece?

Any help would be appreciated, I was hoping, someone might be working on theirs and have it apart and could post a pic of what I'm missing.

 

The clock is all one piece and it screws into the dash. I cannot tell from the pictures of what is going on since it is too small. Resize them.

I can't remember, as I put my clock in about five years ago, but it was bolt-in.

Second thought, I think it bolts to the stereo surround piece, just like the factory plate that's there on trucks with no clock.

 

Shaeff, Thanks! you are correct! I had everything pulled out, gonna do the SR5 cluster swap, so when I got the clock I plugged it in to make sure it worked, then started looking around to see how it mounted up, I didn't think to look at the surrounding pieces to see if they came into play or not, but low and behold there are two mounts to the radio surround!

Glad to help. I had to think about it for a minute- last time I had any of that out was a few years ago when I did my heatercore. LOL.
