I just bought a plastic dash cap for my 87 and it doesn't fit very well at all. It says it was for an 84-86. I thought they were the same???

 

I don't know which year is which, but the indention on top of the pad, some go half way across the top and some go nearly the full length. Also on the passenger side vent, some are a little different in size. They look the same but are not interchangeable on the vents. The complete dash pads will interchange on the trucks though.
