Difference between 2wd windshield and 4x4

Can anybody tell me what the difference is between a 2wd winshield and 4wd windshield in a 90 ext. cab? I need a windshield for my 90 ext. cab 4x4 and I found a 2wd will it work. I called an auto glass company and they said they "THINK" maybe the cab is a little wider in the windshield frame, but they are not sure and have no way to look it up.

I just got my windshield replaced a few months ago, and the main question they asked me is if it was all clear or had the tint at the top. I wanted the tint at the top so had to pay a little extra. They didn't seem to care if it was 2x or 4x.

I called a junk yard near me and they said in the computer it asks if it is 2wd or 4wd but he did not know why. It also ask about the tint but that does not matter to me.

Hmm call them and tell them 2x, then call back a few minutes later and say 4x, see if it's the same one? Maybe the trim is different? Chrome vs black? IDK.

The guy at the junk yard said he does not know the difference and the auto glass company does not know the difference but every junk yard site I go on for inventory check asks if it is 2x or 4x. Got me I did not think they were different they look the same to me.

When i doubt call the dealership or looking it up on ToyotaDIY.
Ask for the part numbers for both. If they are identical part numbers, they are the same thing.
