Diff carier bearing support came loose.

I installed a new clutch about 1K ago, and had to remove the rear drive shaft. Well today, on my way to school, one of the bolts decided to back out of the carrier bearing, and let it hang off of the other bolt. A couple of things happened.

1) The Joint at that portion of the shaft rode on the "dirt shield" and gave off a god awful clunk. This stopped once I remounted the bearing. And the joint looks fine.

2) The part that was attached is now bent pretty well. There is some definite english on that bolt.

So. My questions:

1a) Should I have used threadlock when re-installing the center bearing carrier?
I did this time aorund, but I just want to know if there is a greater problem here.

2a) Is that bent carrier bearing mount going to cause me any problems? The shaft isn't rubbing anything, I jsut don't want it to be thrown off balance or anything...

And the final option: Should I not even worry since I am going to be making a trip up to High Angle Dirveline to have them rebuild it in the next 2-3 weeks?

you should not need to use thread locker on bolts like that. As long as they are torqued properly you should not have a problem.

As far as the carrier bracket being bent, As long as the driveshaft is close to where it should be you should be OK especially for just a couple a weeks.

Red is what I used.

So I'm gonna sit on it, check periodically and see what happens.
