did my reseach but still have a few tire q's

ok im running a stock 87 4runner. Currently i have 30 9.5 mud terraisn on the stock wheels. I have search alot and found alot of info on what tire i can run at stock on stock rims. I wanna run a 32 inch tire but i wanan run a new 15x8 wheel not stock wheels. what width of tire in 32's can i run with a 3.75 inch backspaced wheel. I found alot of info on running larger tires on stock wheels but not really any on new wheels with no lift?

can someoen simply tell me if 32 10.5 or 11.5's will fit and also if 33 10.5 and 11.5s will fit. These are both on a 15x8 3.75 inch offset steel wheel.

are u sure cause what i found by searchign the smaller width tires dont really pose a problem its just the 12.5's? Someone on here has 35 10.5 on his truck and they dont rub with no lift? I think im gonna go 32x 11.5 this should be ok?

yep 32x11.5's will fit with out lift! You just need t trim the inner plastic fender liner and pound the pinch weld flat about 6 inches from the bottom.

I had some rubbing on my PU with the 32 x 11.5", but i just cranked the torsion bars up 1.5", and put in extended shackles, and they fit just fine now with no rubbing. I know a lot of people have run the 32's on 4runners with no rubbing on the stock suspension.

When I first put my 32x11.50's on my truck with the torsion bars cranked up they rubbed but not too badly. They did rip off one of my mud flaps but I just took them off and it didn't bother me too much.

After the 3" BL I put on they don't rub at all now. I even put the mud flaps back on.

As for the comment about the 33x12.50's, you will not get those on without either some serious rubbing or trimming on a stock truck, especially without cranking the torsion bars. Keggo, your sig says you have BJ spacers on your truck. Do you consider that stock?

Huh? I never said anything about stock... I said I didn't touch my torsion bars. Also, before I had any kind of lift at all I ran 33x12.5 Mickey Thompson Baja Claw Radials... Granted I didn't do any offroading at that point because I knew I needed some lift. After I did what's in my sig I was able to romp around sand dunes and stuff and not rub at all. Backspacing is the biggest helper in not rubbing. The only pounding I did was on the front pinch weld... it only took a couple twacks to get it flat... Also, JRunner90 has 33x12.5's on his truck. He has the same suspension setup as me... we were both out at Pismo at the same time romping around and the only rubbing he had was when he launched his 4R in what is quite possibly sickest air I've ever seen a 4R get... Also, I sense some sarcasm in your question Ovrrdrive... Please quote my comment next time.

That wasn't sarcasm at all. I was just pointing out that the OP asked about tires with no lift and in your reply you state that you were able to run 33x12.50's without touching your torsion bars, which is to be interpreted in this thread as "no lift" in my opinion.

I'd hate for the guy to go out and buy 33x12.50's based on your recommendation and find out that he can't turn his truck anymore...

While he could've been more specific in his post, why? That's what signatures are for. All he said is that he didn't touch his torsion bars, meaning with 1.5" spaces you don't need to additionally harshen up your ride by cranking the torsion bars.

Remember...torsion bars are not a "valid" or "good" source of lift in the first place.

True...

But I swear I recall a sticky that's gone now about giving good advice...

If you asked me a question about getting more power out of your 3.4l V6, do you really think it would be ok for me to advise cutting a few wires off the ECU, bypassing a few emissions here and there, and going to a different spark plug if my advice applied to a different engine that was listed in my sig?

If you asked about performance mods for a 3.4l, those are the only suggestions you should get as responses.

Same difference here IMO. I just try to not condone giving bad advice to people here, or anywhere for that matter.

And if a guy asks about bigger tires with no lift, suggestions shouldn't be made about tires that fit with a lift.

I don't really see what the confusion, argument, and problems are here...

In any case Ovrrdrive, I did run 33x12.5's without ANY lift whatsoever... But at the same time I would NOT recommend offroading wth that setup... I drove around town just fine with them... I bought them because I got a pretty good deal on them and my tires were about to blow... also, I knew I was getting lift soon... to stay on topic and end the constant bickering about being specific, with stock suspension people say 32x11.5 tires have worked the best for them... If you're down for experimentation, be my guest. I experimented, had no problems and my truck now has brand new 33x10.5's with all things installed that are in my sig... sheesh.

Now that, is an on topic, non-misleading answer.
