Dented Diff

So my diff has 2 nice dents in it after a nice trip about a month ago. Every thing seems to be working fine but im still giong to switch out my houseing and put some armor on it. Think any thing is screwed or would I know about it?

Yep, its destroyed.

You should take it all apart and scrap it.

*How experienced with a oxy torch are you? You can, once the 3rd is pulled hit any reasonable dents out from the inside with a small rosebud, or start in the center of the dent and working outward until it is just barely glowing. Let it cool and cycle the heat while using a round tipped brass drift and small mallet until it is as best possible. Try not to put too much heat into it, and work only when the metals hot so you don't cause any stress cracks.

NOTE: Clear out as much gear oil as possible..noxious black smoke awaits you if you don't not to mention the fire hazard.
(*A couple of wet rags in the axle tubes will prevent any lingering from leaking back into the area temporarily. Have an extinguisher handy anyhow.)

Very nice, yaeh I was just going to switch houseings cuss I need to remount my shocks, but yeah I think I might as well give it a shot just for some practice befor I scrap the old houseing. Thanks... expeccially with the fire extinguisher comment, prolly somthing I might overlook =)
