Denso fuel pump recall?

Sent my fuel tank out to be cleaned and lined, 12 days and $240 with 1 year guarantee from a reputable shop. Ordered a new Denso 950-0100 fuel pump from Rock Auto

for the 93 V6. Have everything put together and ready to install and now I see Denso did fuel pump recall and one person posted on the RV forum that their new Denso failed!

Tried to search the recalled pumps but is only showing auto manufactures recalls and nothing about after market recalls or pump failures.

Anyone have any insight on this?? Is it safe to use my new 950-0100 ??

Not wanting to install a defective fuel pump in my RV I spent a couple hours on the net and this is the best I could find!Toyota has yet to announce the details of this recall. The following numbered Toyota parts are affected: I suspect these pumps are made in China, but cannot verify.

Where did you find this information?

I have not heard about the recall yet.

How can it be a "recall" if the manufacturer hasn't announced it?

Type Denso fuel pump recall in Google and find thousands of articles about it.

In May 2020, DENSO recalled 2 million low-pressure fuel pumps that are prone to fail. ... Inside these pumps are impellers that can cause fuel pump failure after cracking and deforming over time. The fuel pumps included in the expansion were sold to Ford, Honda, Mazda, Subaru, Toyota and Mitsubishi.Dec 18, 2020

Okay. Denso recalled a number of recently built fuel pumps. https://www.nhtsa.gov/equipment-deta...357742#recalls In addition to the part numbers provided by jjrbus a few posts back, here's the official list: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/202...0E026-7892.pdf Note these are Denso part numbers, not an auto manufacturer's. The Denso fuel pump used in a 4runner/pickup is 951-0001 https://densoautoparts.com/find-my-part.aspx (not on the list). According to this site: https://www.torquenews.com/1083/toyo...-now-available the most recent model year 4runner affected is 2014. Supposedly, Toyota has notified the owners of the affected vehicles (so far as I can tell, that does not include us).

So, yeah, it is useful to be aware of recalls potentially affecting your vehicle. Maybe the 27-year old Denso (OE) fuel pump in my truck is at risk (probably not). But "thousands of articles" on the internet won't tell you anything unless you read some of them.

Nice find on the part #'s. I spent a good 2 hours reading articles on the net trying to find if the pump I just purchased was part of the recall or not.
