Years ago I took the dashboard all apart on my 88 Pickup. Patched the dash top panel with bondo, primed, sanded, painted -- the whole works. It looked good for a while, then the cracks started opening up again. Got worse and worse with time. Finally I bought a Dash-Cap from Accu-form Plastics, Inc., in Utah. At $150 it wasn't cheap but it promised to fix the scene once and for all. I painted it to match the rest of the dash top (instrument binnacle, etc.). Installed it per their very detailed directions. Damn! It looks terrific. Wish I had done this first instead of wasting all that time trying to rescue the old dash top. I hope this helps someone out there. https://accuformplastics.com/
