I just recently put BJ Spacers on my rig, and didn't think that I would have a CV Boot tear, my ignorance I suppose. Walked out to my car to go to class this morning and noticed both sides were greasy. Looked down there to find my inner boot is torn on the drivers side and my outer boot is torn on the passenger side. I could fix them this weekend if I needed to but I figure what's the point right? I would rather replace them once when it's on a lift to do the hubs then have to do it twice or three times before I do the hubs. I might as well and wait until I get manual hubs in about 2 months then go ahead and fix them right? What are the potential problems with this idea?

I suppose they could fail from lack of grease, because they do turn and the fact that they're not always disconnected thanks to that ADD nonsense. They do make repair sleeves that are pretty cheap and easy and quick repairs.

As long as you restrain from using 4WD. You could do more damage than good waiting to replace damaged/leaking CV boots.

You can wait as long as you understand you could ruin the cv's by doing so. I'd just stay out of water & don't wheel it until you fix it.

Personally I'd replace the boots since the hub swap is really simple & doesn't really have anything at all to do with changing the cv boots other than having to remove that one bolt & c-clip from the end of the shaft. Better to do it now imo
