Self regulated boost pressure, wish mine did that. I start feathering the throttle at 8, cause diesel turbo don't care
Did you add a blow-off valve?
Plans for an intercooler?
no intercooler...
no the internal wastegate seems to be doing ok...
i think the turbo header and the additional supra AFM combo with the ct26 are a nice compliment to each other... haven't had to do much of any tuning... fired it up and started driving... it may need some after all the leaks/ bugs/ cracked header already... get fixed... but, in spite of those little gremlins I'm very impressed....
A blow-off valve goes between the turbo and the throttle plate, it prolongs the seals in the turbo (prevents surging) by releasing the pressure in the charge tube when the throttle is closed. Not to be confused with an external waste which releases the pressure in the exhaust and regulates boost.
Now I typed all that I forgot exactly what you said, but it's relevant.
Have you managed to hit the "fuel cut off" yet, actually cuts ignition but that's another story? I don't think it's as prevalent on a stick shift, on my automatic it will happen anytime I'm hard on the throttle and it drops out of OD.

Well things keep going south...
i can't seem to stop leaks... everything is so hard to reach and I've started round 4 with this issue... I'm going to take the whole darn thing out and start from scratch so i can reach the unreachable...
hope to report back all is well....
had to crank another quarter turn into the oil filter relocation plate when I was under mine last time. That's the easy one, the rest I am probably going to have to suffer with till spring again at which point I'll prefer to be in it instead of under it.
Sorry... first time the header gasket leaked away the bottom... second crack in the header... third the turbo outlet gasket... fourth the wastegate flage gasket... argh... one by one I'm getting then sealed but it's been a pain in the buhooty... some of the notes are almost impossible to reach when it's on the truck soooo I'm going to take it back off and I'll take some pics where the issues have been and what to look for if your doing a turbo upgrade...

I've had to resecure every one of those except the stock exhaust manifold hasn't blowen out the gasket yet, it's been known to try to throw the studs out but it's beefy enough to hold the gasket with "most" of them in place.
My turbo sits much closer to the steering than yours, can't imagine I could get at the inner forward turbo to exhaust nut otherwise.. The rest is lots of cursing, some blood sacrifice, and pretty much a different tool or tool configuration to get at every nut and bolt..

exactly... lol
well i got the leaks stopped this evening... yes some knuckle busting, bruises, and a little cursing...
went back to the oem manifold, lost some performance but that ok for now....
Modified my charge pipe after blowing a silicone coupling before the mod.... now the charge pipe butts up against the turbo outlet, so the hose and clamps just hold it in place...
