How's the cable for the cruise control? Is it in properly?

Check the vacuum lines and connectors too.

Mine wasn't working because of two reasons. One was the brakes were bad and the second time was because i didn't connect them back good enough.

Strange how it still lights up, makes me think it has to do with the cable.

yes the cable is in properly.
the only thing that get me is, well the box that the cable goes to, when i take of the cap/lid its really gumbed up looking but the arm that the cable is attached to moves freely with no problem at all. is that normal?

Is your runner a 5 speed. If it is you may need to adjust the clutch petal.

Can't tell from you description what exactly yours is doing. But what mine was doing was I would turn it on and it would click off. The cruise light would blink off and on. Turns out that the brake light switch, down by the brake peddle, was sticking. Gave it a little shot of WD40. Now the cruise works.

Maybe not your problem but easy fix if someone is is having a similar problem.

haha let's get one thing covered because I'm not sure you're engaging the cruise control properly!

You push the cruise button yes? That engages it, however, you gotta set it as well by pressing the bottom button on the far right side of the steering wheel. I know it sounds silly if you're doing this but i wanna make sure!
