I have an issue with my cruise. Some days it works, others not. The light on the dash always comes one. But sometimes when i set my cruise, it will go out, and then blink at me. It does this when it doesnt work. Any ideas?

This is on my 88 runner, 3.0, SR5, 5speed

 

Can't tell you what causes it but mine does it too. Sometimes if I step on the brake peddle and slow down the cruise will then work. It might take a time or two of stepping on the brake to get it to work though.

 

Mine did that when before I sold it, and since I was selling it, I didn't bother looking into what the problem was. Go to page BE-95 in this document. It should help you out. At least you can pull the code and get an idea of what the problem is (note that you have to pull the code before shutting the engine off after the cruise control has cancelled on you and you get the blinking light)
