Codes? http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...10cruiseco.pdf
Broken throttle connection? Disconnected vacuum?

don't have codes! Throttle cable is good, vacuum line is good. it goes to a module on engine, maybe that is plugged?

FUnny thing, my cruise was working fine a while ago, but the other day it wouldn't turn on...

With that said, the only time this week engine handles cruise control properly is on long flat terrain. So, my suggestion is to lube your gas pedal and make it soft

Check the play on the cruise control cable. Sometimes it stretches and the vacuum then doesn't tighten the cable enough, making the speed drop. It adjusts in the engine bay at the throttle body. Make sure it's tight with only the slightest movement but does not hold the throttle open.

Did you run the tests starting on page BE-80? If not, then all you are asking for is people to guess something.

What scope103 said. The cruise control system has its own separate diagnostic system, independent of the engine control system. Codes won't show up with the normal test methods. You have to run the diags as per the service manual link he gave.
