Could it be the MAF sensor?

Ok...I have a 95' T100, that here recently is dying everytime I slow down for a corner or stopping at a stop sign. Also when the truck is at idle and the engine is cold, as it starts to warm up to operating temp the truck starts to drop in rpm's and goes up and down and dies. It sounds like it's getting to much gas. And when I try to start the truck back up it won't start, it just sounds like it chokes. I have also notice that after trying to start the truck back up, one can smell the fumes of gas. I have a scanner, but it's not giving any codes. I was thinking it might be the MAF sensor because when I do live data of the engine running, the MAF is not giving any readings whatsoever. I have also taken and cleaned the MAF, but still nothing. The MAF will just read 0.000(lbs/min). I want to ask what you guys think.

It should read in G/SEC. If you dont have any reading at all, I would susp the MAF.
