Coolant Outlet Seal?

Ive a 3vze with HG done a yr ago. Ive put about 12,000 on it since then and it has been running strong until....

It started leaking coolant out of where the upper radiator hose clamps to a casted aluminum peice, that bolts into the from engine outlet.

(its kind of hard to explain it and no i dont have a picture sorry)

So for a little more explanation... if you follow the coolant system, there is an outlet "pipe" that sticks out of the valve timing cover. this mates up to an aluminum peice with two bolts and then a hose is clamped on.

the question is...

ive looked up the FSM and Parts catalouge and nothing mentions anything about an O-ring. So i applied sealant in the groove that is provided. Evidently the sealant failed so last night i went and got high tem sealant hoping this will work.

does anyone know of an o-ring that maybe what your supposed to use here or am i just Shi**y at applying sealant? haha

thanks

I used no gasket there and just the gray water-use RTV stuff for thermostats and water pumps.

right there in the middle

Make sure you clean both surfaces thoroughly & remove all trace of the old FIPG. That's all you need. Mines been good for 30k miles now....
