Coolant line or vacuum line...I don't know?

I am dotting my I's and crossing my T's after my first rebuild. The engine was already half taken apart when I bought it so I am not entirely sure of where everything goes. I think I have found a diagram to help me with all the vacuum lines but if anyone knows of any good pics out there, I would be greatful ;-)! The one line I can't seem to figure out is underneath the intake manifold near the bottom side of where the thermostat is. It is a U-shaped hose that is about an inch in diameter. Does anyone know what and where this things hooks up to? Pics? Also, any advice on getting the AC Compressor belt on? All the other belts I had went on without a fight and this one seems near impossible. I checked the part number and everything checks out alright there...

That should help with the vacuum lines for sure! Thanks! Any chance you have any pics of the underside of your intake manifold or do you know where that U-shaped piece hooks up to?

no pics but there are a few things going on under the intake. 1st there is the pair system that routes back to your exhaust behind the head and there's a coolant line that connects to the lower half of the intake. The other coolant lines will be routed to the throttle body on the underside to the iacv. The coolant line that runs to the lower half of the intake is about .5 inches in diameter and connects via a plate and gasket so no clamps there as the throttle body coolant lines connect by clamps and are quite a bit smaller in diameter. Start doing some searches around yotatech as i'm sure there are a lot of pics that i can recall. good luck

i have one of those and it connects to wait for it...... nothing!!!! It's for another sensor that my truck isn't equiped with and it looks as if yous isn't either. Notice the way the wire looks like it was folded a few times and tied off usually that would be the dead give away that it's not used on your truck.

Man....you don't happen to have a How-to on that imax? I mean, if I have the spare plug, might as well make it happen! Well I can't thank you guys enough, I have that engine all buttoned up. I turned it over and sadly I got nothing. I turned the key a second time and I didn't hear the fuel pump priming so I thought I would take a look. Do you guys think this fuel pump may be bad?

yeah...me too! So hopefully once I get this new fuel pump she'll be ready to go.

if you can drop the tank and clean that sucker out!!!! Looks like you have more than a fuel pump problem and check for leaks on the tank. There's no way all that corosion just happened there must be some thing else causing it and you don't want to do this twice right?

Holy hell, this makes me almost not want to open up mine to do the level sensor. I don't have the fuel pump as mine is carb'd but still.

Yeah I pulled the whole thing. It is pretty rusted out. I drained everything out and then took it to the car wash and power washed the crap out of it. I found a handful of holes and gave them a temp patch with some permatex gas tank repair....I'll probably end up getting another tank. I should be good for a while though. It's mostly the top side of the tank that is in poor condition so I may just keep the tank half full until I can get the thing fixed for good.

been there done that when it comes to the temp fix permatex thing and from first hand experience only use it as a temp band aid if you have to. I forget where i purchased my tank but i just ended up replacing the whole shebang tank, pump, sending unit while i was at it. Expensive?, yes but i don't have to worry about it for a long long time. To be honest though my tank wasn't that bad when i pulled the crap out of it so it makes me think yours is pretty bad. Just be careful you don't want leaks/fire/death, you know basic hazards right? Post pics when you get after it.

Yeah mine is pretty ate up. I just need something to get it started so i can get it inspected and tagged. I'm going to cruise craigslist and the likes to see if I can find a used tank first. This should hold me over until then. I'll post some pics for sure. Hopefully I'll have a youtube video of the first start up tonight! I've never even seen this thing with a complete engine since I bought it so I am pumped!

check rockauto and partsgeek for the tank. It should be around 140 or 150 plus shipping.
