connecting rod socket

does anyone know what size socket you need to take off the connecting rods?

its a 14mm oh crap didnt see you had the 3.slow, im not shure about that motor but its proly the same.

it cant be a 14, a 12mm is slightly too big.

hmmm. it might be a 10mm then, ive never worked on a 3.0 but any thing smaller than a 14mm for a rod bolt seems pretty small.
most of the bolts on my 91 toyota 22re are 10mm 12mm 14mm 17mm 19mm! and the rod nuts on my 22re are 14mm

its NOT a 10mm for sure. it should be a 12mm, but you will need a thin wall socket to get most of them off.

I had a 12 point 12mm socket on there but it was starting to slip off. why thin wall?

DONT USE a 12 point socket, unless the nuts are 12 point! Get a 6 point.

Trust me, you dont want to round that thing off. Craftsman 3/8 drive chrome sockets are thin yet strong enough to get the nuts off.
