Compression problem

Passenger side, bottom to top is 1-3-5
cyl 1 reads 140, cyl 3 reads 60, cyl 5 reads 165

Now the right side bottom to top is 2-4-6 and is just the opposite
cyl 2 reads 165, cyl 4 reads 60 and cyl 6 reads 140

So it's like a perfect pattern

Motor is a 3vze bored .5 over, and the head gaskets were good. Also cylinder 4 appears to have never fired... I pulled the heads and all showed signs of combustion except cylinder 4. Any advice would be nice! Thanks

My first guess would be your valves are sticking open in 3 & 4. OR...shims aren't allowing them to seat properly (same effect). Were valves adjusted at rebuild?

Are you getting a good spark to all cylinders?

When was the rebuild done? (#of miles)

140 is too low, 60 is WAY too low. 165 is good.

I''d also be concerned with piston rings. Did you rebuild yourself or have it done? Brand of parts used? Any unusual noise from the engine?

Valves were not adjusted after rebuild but I think the shop may have reinstalled the shims incorrectly when they cleaned the heads since everyone is saying valves.

All cylinders but 3 were firing good. 3 had a miss but did fire. 4 on the other hand, NEVER fired. Not once.
Rebuild is fresh, not drive for a mile, probably 30 minutes of idle time.

I did the rebuild myself, my dad did the rings and they were installed in proper order, and not aligned with each other.

Parts were purchased from EngnBldr.

No unusual noise at all.
