compression check with a stuck spark plug?
Stupid question, but I'm trying to track down a problem with my 4Runner and I have one stuck spark plug. I don't feel like messing with the stuck plug anymore (It's less than 10K miles old anyway). Would I do any damage if I did a compression check on the other 5 cylinders?

No, you won't hurt anything, but you won't know anything about that cylinder, either.

Thanks, that what I thought about the compression check, I just wanted to make sure before I make things worse.
I think it's cross threaded. I can get the plug to turn a little bit if I use a breaker bar on it. I have rotated it less than a full turn in all my attempts. I figure at this point it's more worth my time to try a compression check then mess with a stubborn spark plug.
Edit- Mine is the #6 plug too- Is this a common problem? I think I remember using anti seize when I installed them last too.

Well, if you've not created a leak at that plug, you're probably fine. I drove for a while with a crossthreaded plug. Know that you'll have to have that repaired, though, next time you change the plugs.

Well, im in LR until late August, and then its back up to Fayetteville. I take it your in NW Ark as well?
edit: I wouldn't mess with it if it was crossthreaded either, it could turn into a much larger job. Heli-coiling any spark plug holes on these v6's doesn't look like fun.
