cold start idling issue

cold start idling issue

when I start my truck cold it idles at around 1500 rpms. I know it's not a huge problem, but I would like fix it. any sugguestioins

How long before it drops down to regular idle? Which engine?

it's 22re and it takes a few minutes to drop to around 1000 rpms and a minute or more to drop to the right idle which is around 850 rpms

sounds normal depending on the ambiant temp.

thats what mine does now, after i adjusted my idle. before i did that it would idle fine then drop down to 500 and after a while of driving it would bounce from 200-500 allmost dying. works good now.

how about this symptom:

1988 3.0
cold start is 1000 RPM, drops to 800 ish after warm
hot start is < 400 RPM, raises to 800 ish after some driving

What's that all about?
