Code 51 when revving

I got a code 51. I have a 89 manual 3vze. I bought a new tps due to timing not staying in place. When I rev the engine with the old tps the timing would move places. Now i replaced with new tps and finally stays at 10 degrees even when I rev it. The only issue i have now is that when I rev the engine i get code 51 again but once it goes back to idle it goes away. Is this normal? Or should i try adjusting the tps again. I have smogg check in two weeks and this just happened.

Your timing is supposed to change unless you have the paper clip in the tester so that probably wasn't a problem. I would try adjusting the tps. Did you adjust it with the different feeler gauges under the idle screw like you're supposed to? I didn't understand the feeler gauges thing at first because I was just looking at the chart and didn't read anything and I had the tps all off

yes I adjusted with the feeler gauges. 50mm and 80mm are in spec. New tps feels great. I got no trouble code when I test drove the truck for 30mins. When I have the paper clip on tobcheck trouble codes it got no trouble codes now. The only time I get a quick code is when I rev the engine but once it goes back to idle it goes away. I just want to make sure if thats normal and wont affect me when i take it to smogg check.

This is from a different thread and seems that it is normal for the code to pop up when the tps opens or not on idle.
going to do smogg should I leave it at 10 degrees. Truck is slightly shaky but drives fine.

What I can't tell is if this is proper behavior or not.

The "running 51" goes when the A/C is on AND when throttle is opened. It goes away when both conditions are not present. EG, no throttle applied, no ac.

It's working properly. That's exactly what it should do.

proceed as follows:
1. Initial conditions
(a) Battery voltage above 11 volts or more.
(b) Throttle valve fully closed (throttle position sensor

(c) Transmission in neutral position.
(d) Accessories switched OFF.
(e) Engine at normal operating temperature.

2. Turn the ignition switch ON. Do not start the engine.

MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP CHECK
1. The malfunction indicator lamp will come on when the
ignition switch is placed at ON and the engine is not
running.
2. When the engine is started, the malfunction indicator
lamp should go off.
If the light remains on, the diagnosis system has
detected a malfunction or abnormality in the system.
3. Using SST, connect terminals TE1 and E1 of the DLC1.
