Code 51

Hey all, I got a code 51, which according to the FSM is the TPS. The only thing is, that my rig runs fine Iv'e cleared the codes by disconnecting the battery but is still shows up, and as far as I can tell, nothing is wrong. Any Ideas?

turn car off push some Tpins into the back of the connectors on the tps and take your ohm meter and slowly open the throttle to the WOT position and note the resistance its giving you and check that to factory specs and look for flat spots or spikes may take a bit of fanaglen to do but it should help

I'll check that when I get a chance thanks It's not a big deal, I'm just curious as to why I'm getting a code. No check engine light and everything runs perfect

My friend's truck is doing the same. It seems to run fine, and he has no check engine light, but on diagnostic mode he gets code 51. I only found out because i was trying to adjust his timing but was unable to because it did not give that audible drop when the diagnostic mode was set.

I am pretty sure that his TPS is shot.

You may want to check if your truck does the same.
