Clutch Pedal Support Assembly????
i have read alot of the threads on here about the clutch pedal bracket cracking. my clutch is making popping sounds when i push it to the floor. i suspect the assembly might be cracked? my question is, what is the part number for this for a 1988 4runner??? i seen it for 90's model 4runners and trucks but not 1984-1989 4runners. any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I pushed mine all back into place and held it there with a bottle jack and some wood shims and whatnot. Then added some gussets and welded mine all back together. Mine also cracked away from the cowl so I had to pull the screens and whatnot out from behind the hood against the windshield and had to sand and weld the cracks shut.

I've had this happen to me. I heard, but don't know how to confirm, that toyota actually changed the bracket design. The new part would be different than the OE part, in theory.
I ended up getting a tow and having a shop weld the old bracket. It still makes creaking noises occasionally, but it's lasted through 3 wheeling trips and plenty of towing.
The repair is actually a major PITA, the shop had to remove the steering wheel to get the clutch pedal out. (!) After all that, I wish I had researched the replacement toyota part better.
