Ok i put a new one in my 86 turbo 4runner. I went to bleed it and nothing..... No pedal whatsoever. I pumped it over 100 times and it didn't build pressure at all. Whats up with it?

I assume that you have a bleed screw at your slave cylinder that you opened...

 

x2, is the bleeder valve open at the slave cyl? If its closed and your still not building pressure check the fluid lines into the master cylinder and into the slave cylinder. Then check the seal on the new master cylinder and make sure its not bad right out of the box. If all that is good and you are still getting no fluid pressure check if you are loosing any fluid at all. If so check out the hardlines and softlines completely and figure it out. Why did you replace the MC in the first place? are you sure it wasnt really an issue with the slave cylinder instead?

 

Also check your pedal height off the floor angle .It should be 6 inches. If it's not check for cracks in your pedal bracket. If bracket is cracked you will think you have no clutch.

 

Start the truck, let it heat up, then try pumping the clutch.....make sure all bleeder screws are tight first......

 

Same thing happened to mine. Turned out it had a small leak under the cup, took it back to Autozone and got an oem one.

 

I replaced it because the other one was leaking into the cab. And it wouldn't hold pressure. Do you have to bench bleed these?

I gravity bled mine. open the bleeder at the slave and let it slow drip for an hour close the bleeder and your good to go.

It worked really good for me on clutch and front brakes.

 

Definatly invest in a suction bleeder kit. It takes about a minute to bleed the clutch master and its DEFINATLY bled. Also great for bleeding brakes which people neglect all too often.
