Clutch advise
I am going to do the clutch on my 95 4runner 3.0 mainly so I can fix the profusely leaking rear main seal, and hopefully figure out why it (frequently) is popping out of first gear during initial take off.
Should I go with:
A. Marlin kit? ($271)
B. AISIN CKT-016 ($145 shipped)
Price difference is roughly $126
I don't do anything crazy. Just want it to be a reliable vehicle. Maybe some light off roading in the future.

I was thinking the same. Shifter bushing was checked many years ago, and recently rechecked. Still good.
My mechanic mentioned it could have something to do with a possible worn shift fork in the tranny. (because they are soft aluminum, it's possibly wore down and not pushing 1st gear properly into place.
Which is what it seems like, but I'm far from an expert.

You can get the Marlin clutch for a little less try giving them a call.
Both are good choices if you are running over sized tires and playing in the rocks or hills a lot then the Marlin might be a better option. If you are under 31s and see 90% road use the OEM clutch will live a long time.

Go with the Aisin
It all comes down to application you said daily driver with light off-roading in the future. I have no doubt the Marlin clutch is top notch so not downing it but given what u said about how u use it you might as well save the cash for future mods.
Be sure to have flywheel turned or replaced. And lil "Murphy's law" things like rear main (u already plan on) and trans input seal.
Good luck!

As far as the transmission popping out of first gear on takeoff, mine has been doing that occasionally since I got it in 1993 with 10K miles. I simply hold it pushed forward with my right hand when taking off. It now has 279K miles, so I don't think it gets any worse with age/use.
