Hi
I have a 1990 p/u and have a problem with the stearing.
When you stear to the right real hard it makes a clunking sound?
Im not sure what it is... and how do I go about fixing it?

steering stops, is it at full lock? if so its the steering stops, and everyone that has a pickup from then has this issue, its nothin serious, just grease em and go. or just leave it

 

It doesnt lock up but its horrid sounding. ok well thanks ill give it a try tonight

 

It sounds to me like it is your CV-joints

 

ok ill take a look its only when u turn really hard and its moving at a slow slow speed

 

Steering stops....slap some grease on them...only thing you can do.

 

i told my mom once "it hurts my elbow when i move it like this"..she said..."dont move it like that then." tires rubbing inside wheel wells..cv's a possibality..just dont turn it so hard maybe..thats what i do to keep mine from making that noise.
