When coming to a stop sign or stop brake, and I apply the brakes when the truck is almost at a stop there is a clunk that comes from the drivers side wheel area, any suggestions on what it could be?

 

Just had a similar thing on my wifes car.

A$$hat mechanics did a crappy job of brakes and caliper bolt came out, allowing brake caliper to rotate around and clunk on inside of wheel.

Serves me right for letting someone else work on the car.

 

That ^^ could be it but a common problem is all the drive shats and ball joints needing grease. Mine used to do this until i went and greased everything, now it works fine.

 

Do a search for threads about "axle wrap" and see if the symtoms there sound familiar... (if we are talking about a leafsprung rig, you don't specify)

 

<----had the same sound. the tie rod adjuster bolt was loose.
