Chipped injector

Chipped injector
The injector 'hat' on one of my fuel injectors is chipped.
IS this going to be a problem for rebuilding the injector?
Will I need to replace the injector?

There is that black piece, which is rubber. When I pull that off ther 'green' plastic extends into the injector body and I can't remove it (that said, I wasn't trying too hard to remove it, but It hink it's crimped into the body of the injector).

youll get new "hats" like that if you have cruzin performance clean and rebuild your injectors. They rebuilt mine, mine looked about like yours....what i got back amazed me! They were polished and looked brand spanking new!!!

One of mine was like that and after not being able to find a new cap I just put it back in like that. I even pulled the rest of the boot off of it too.
And you shouldn't be surprised to know its working fine without the boot. I did get Oring kits for each injector though and replace all of the other boots and orings.

i now have about 4 out of 6 injectors without those hats on. Everything runs fine but you might want to get as much of that brittle green crap off of there & keep it out of your cylinders & combustion chambers.
