check engine light on
My check engine light on my 89 pickup, 22re keeps coming on. The light has been coming on for about 3 months now and every time, I just unhook the battery it turns off and then comes on about a week later. The truck is running fine.
What can cause the light to come on??

I'm jus' kiddin'. My wife and I used to freak if the CEL ever came on when we first got a fuel injected vehicle.
As for yours....don't know. There's a million and one threads on how to pull the codes from the ECU. Do a search, mate.

Do I have to have a special computer to read the codes. I'm not too worried about it I just hate having that light on and always being there in the corner of my eye.
