My 95 Forerunner is showing check engine light. Seems to be
running normal. Went to Advance auto to have have scanned but
they couldn't do it. Please direct me to link on the procedure and
correct tool.
Thank you

To read trouble codes you will need to place a jumper wire between terminals TE1 and E1 in the Diagnostics port, it is located on the P/S of the engine bay, right by the fuse box. Get in the drivers seat and put the key in the ignition and turn to ON, but don't start. Watch the check engine light it will start to flash in a particular count sequence if you have any trouble codes stored. The flash patterns correspond to numbers ie: ** * will be a 21, * * will be an 11, **** ** will be a 42, and so and and so forth. If there are multiple codes it will flash each separate code in succession. ie: ** * (21) then **** ** (42). Once it has run all codes stored, it will repeat the whole sequence again.

I don't have a list I can post, but if you pull your codes post them up and we can let you know what they are.

For the SST, most of us use a paperclip.
