charcoal canister

charcoal canister

the hose that comes from the main bottom of the charcoal canister, is that supposed to be hooked up to something ? or is it a drain type hose that just hangs down ?.....1989 4x4 truck

It's suppost to be stuck into a hole in the frame for some reason. May be a drain of some type.

That is the fresh air vent line for the cannister. Lets the engine pull air through the charcoal to flush out the accumulated gas fumes.

Drain. Many actually poke into the frame and drain in there. Probably to keep it clear of mud.
