Changed spark plugs

I changed my spark plugs on Saturday. I bought my truck in December and have put about 6,000 miles on it (right now around 183,xxx). I do not know how long the old plugs were in. I put in NGK BKR5EYA. The plugs that I took out were Autolite Platinum AP3924. They were not fouled but the platinum tips are pretty heavily corroded. I think this just indicates they were in for a while. Take a look at the pictures and let me know what you think about their condition and what it means for my engine.

Overall this was really simple, the worst part being the gapping of the plugs, which is not hard but I think is more art than science. But, the truck runs well, always a plus when you are fooling with the engine.

looks like they have been in a while, but they look good, at least they are not black and oily. it is hard to tell in the pics, but you may have a slight amount of oil getting in the combustion chamber, or maybe bad gas. are the deposits chalky and lumpy?

I would not say lumpy; chalky may be close. Overall I do not think they look bad or show and possible engine issues. I have not used platinum plugs before so this (taking them out) was my first encounter.

well, ya can't go wrong with NGKs, and a know everyone will back me up on that, lol

I've been through Autolites, AC Delcos, Bosch (WORST EVER!!!), and even the NGK Iridiums, but the standards (not the V-Power, just the basic) work the best in my 91 22re with 285k miles.

NGK or Denso; the only way to go with these Yotes
