is 3s-gte turbo manifold SAME as the 22re or are there any other manifolds that line up with the 22re? donot want to buy LC's manifold. looking for a cheaper option. waht about the mr2 turbo mani?

 

How about use the stock manifold? It isnt really a bad manifold. Just run some 2 inch pipe to the cat and 2 1/4 behind that. Ther is a thread on another board that talks about the manifolds, headers, written by Engine Builder that says that the stock manifold was equal to many of the headers available. This is a great read too.

if your talking about the exhaust manifold, there are aftermarket options other than LC.

i got a thorley header ceramic coated for 260. and uncoated was only 200. i got them from autoanything.com i havent had a single problem with it, no leaks and very high quality, the single header weighs more then both of the full length headers on my camaro.

The 3sgte is not even close to the same manifold as the 22RTEC engine. If you are building a Turbo engine, you may as well do it right the first time!

 

also GotPropane.com sells new Toyota turbo exhaust manifolds. much cheaper and easier than aftermarket.

 

The catch with the turbo manifolds is to use a flex pipe in the down pipe - prevent cracking of the turbo/manifold.
