Hi 4 Runner community . Ive been around here for quite a time but decided to sign up because i have a major problem with my 95 4 Runner. I guess the cable from the latch wich unlocks the engine bay is broken(not the part in the cabin). If i pull it i feel no resistence at all.
i already disassembled the front (bumper, lights...) but the grill is screwed under the hood. Anybody who could give me a hint please?? Best wishes from germany! cifer

 

the cable is still attached to the pull lever under the dash?

 

Hi thook. Not anymore because i took it apart.
If i get under the steering wheel i can follow the isloted cable through that small hole wich leads to the engine bay. Is there a malfunction of the cable inside the cabin?

I am in a similar situation with my brother's 1990 Toyota Corolla Wagon, except the car was in a collision. I can move the cable but the hood latch is now out of alignment and won't pop up.

We might just let the body shop deal with it.
