im sure you would probably fail the visual inspection before you ever got to the sniffer test

I would guess you're gonna have to do a visual and sniffer test, so you at least need it to LOOK like it's all installed.

Technically, if your cat is good and the engine is in proper tune, it should pass the sniffer no problem.

couple things:
without the 'vacuum hoses', your egr valve will not work, your charcoal canister purge won't work... your distributor advance / retard won't work...

In Washington all we have is the sniffer and gas cap test. Your car can be a rust bucket held together with twine and duct tape and no working lights and as long as it passes those two test you'll be fine.

Abe doesn't know what he's on about. Why don't you clip all the hoses and find out if you need them or not?

Toyota's, unlike Jeeps, aren't the result of a tornado going through a junk yard- all the parts on your truck were put there for a reason.

I suppose you could say that about Hummers too, and Chvey, and Ford.

you may check with your state regs; your truck is over 20 yrs old, and may not even have to pass the sniff test, as in it is grandfathered in.
