That's illegal, turn signals are there for safety purposes. There's some of the turn signal circuitry by the driver's left foot. In there, there the thing in charge of timing the turn signal. If its unplugged, the signal blinks on and off very fast.

drill out your corner lights to take a 1157 bulb/socket holder now you have a running light and a turn signal

what if rather then re drilling the exiting hole you drill a new hole for turn signals that way you have running lights and turn signals

I've done that, it was pretty straightforward.

Yep, modify your corner lamps to accept an 1157 bulb and socket. Reroute your wiring up there, and you're legal & safe.

Some folks do it WITH their existing turn signals simply for safety reasons.

Or i can get you JDM corner lamps that has the sockets for both the blinker and parking lights....they don't run that much either, maybe $20 bucks plus shipping...so $30 total.... See below for pic, it will fit any 2nd gen 4runner/surf...

A solid state (or electronic) flasher should solve the fast blinking problem. Traditional flashers need the amperage of the bulbs draw to flash at the correct rate. Same thing happens when you swap out normal bulbs for LED bulbs - most vehicles flash fast. I had to swap mine out on my bike when I moved the turn signals to the mirrors....but as mentioned above the swap for the turn signal/running light is the better idea.

Yes the orange part sticks out, in japan there has to be a turn signal visible from the side...

cbrsport17 - Wow really? I have been looking for aftermarket corner lights that are combo'd like that. Thats awesome. Do you think they would still fit my 94'? Can you get JDM tail lights as well?

Basically the same idea as posted earlier, but is what I used to mod my '86:
