cam replacement?

ughh another quick question for peace of mind....im buying a head without a cam in it, whats all involved with swapping my cam over to the new head? unbolt and bolt? new cam bearings?? thanks for the info guys been askin alot of questions lately and all have been answered mad props

i would definitely recommend micing the cam journals to make sure they are in spec. If they are just put some new cam bearings on it.

There are no cam bearings on 22re's. To check the clearence put the cam in use plastigauge and bolt down the caps then unbolt and check the clearence. If you dont want to check clearence just bolt in your cam and make sure it spins smoothly. Make sure you lube the cam when you do the final install. Also you cant swap the caps that hold down the cam to a different head or you will run into problems.

My bad, that came from a guy who's never pulled a cam out of a toyota, lol You learn something new everyday.
