Calling All Carb Gurus!
I have an 87 22R that had been sitting for about 3 years due to a broken timing chain. I rebuilt the entire engine and rebuilt the carb. I did not remove the metal slugs on the carb. The truck will start and idle fine, and the choke works as it should. Driving is no problem. The problem I am having is when I come to a stop after driving. If I'm coming to a stop, when I push in the clutch, the idle drops to a stumble and the truck dies, unless I do the Curly Shuffle with the gas/brake/cluch. This only happens warm, as it seems if it is still on choke, the idle is high enough to keep the truck alive. I have also replaced about 13 feet of vacuum hose and have it routed according to the sticker under the hood. BTW, I did not replace the float during the carb rebuild, as it was in good condition upon inspection.
Any suggestions?

The engine rebuild was completely stock. Rings, bearings, seals. Everything cleaned, polished, honed. Carb was rebuilt with a stock kit. I have not checked the vac line to the master, although I was just thinking last night that the engine dying seems to be related to the brakes. The only thing I could think of was the vac line to the master.
Fuel filter was replaced, once I found the thing!
