Calling All 4Runner Owners!

Hey, I was wondering for those of you with 1st gen 4runners if you left the plastic cosmetics around the edges of the topper, or just ditched it so you wouldn't have to remove all that stuff when you wanted to take the top off, most of mine is broke, or missing, the plastic back there is really brittle... It looks kinda ghetto in the back without it though.

I rarely take my top off but sometimes i do when friends come down and we go to the beach or somethin. I leave everything in my runner. All trim and everything. Gotta keep it looking OEM toyota.... mine are all fine and not broke...lol

left mine out, but i did do diamond plate sides inside the runner, so i would have had to make them fit nice and with how brittle mine were i was risking breaking them. i posted a pic in this thread if you would like to see it:

I have not ever put mine back, but I have also only had my runner for a very little time, I have only taken the top off to get everything cleaned up and have been lazy so It's still not clean and the top has not gone back on yet

Mine are collecting dust in the garage

Being in AZ I hardly ever have the top on and when I do its only for a day or 2 then I put the bikini top back on.

I like it! Nice truck and top.

I can't really take my top off because I bent the cab pretty good when I rolled it.

I bought those rims from a guy on nc4x4.com, they are factory, powder coating I think. But they don't have Toyota on them where my other sr5 rims do. A Killer Toy Top. The side panels are off.

no windows

and windows, this pic is bad, so humid that day the camera fogged.

Mine are piled up on top of my top as it sits in the garage. Most are in good shape but they are old and some are broken/cracked.

i took mine off 6 years ago when i bought it, have been lugging them around since, all in good condition. . . . . . .until about 3 months ago when i accidentally backed over one of them. don't know what to do with the remaining ones now. i just don't care enough.

i suppose if you want to replace some, PM me and let me know which one you need and i'll see if it is the one that i DIDN'T break.

All of mine were broken but I had all of the pieces. There's a product called plastic weld it comes in a two part syringe at auto parts stores.I've used it for the last 12 years.I used it to repair mine.
