yea i have a buddy that has a turbo truck with a regular 22re in it..his plate says 22REC..lol theres a 2wd 87 here close to my town for sale for $1400 its factory turbo and has the digital dash...and its 5speed...i want it sooo bad..its ext cab tooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and his truck was factory turbo?? and it says 22REC??????

i know it's factory turbo because his dad owned it and bought it new in '86 from the toyota dealership and it was FACTORY TURBO..

even has the turbo emblem on the side of the cab it says toyota 4wd turbo

The engine itself is a 22R-TE. It is even called that in my 84-88 service manual.

Just the same as the 2L-TE, the 1KZ-TE (both turbo charged and EFI engines)

ohhhhhhhhhh i see now, ...i think... you can get a 22R-TE with cali emissions so it would still be called a 22rec on the emissions plate in the engine bay right?

factory Turbos were 86-87

I get 17-18 around town with 5.29's and 35's...

at extreme angles I would rather have EFI.
at this angle it was hard to get my 22R started again:
