Cab lights on a 1st gen 4runner

Like the title says. I used to have a set of 5 amber "chicken" lights (on the cab) on a sweet 1 ton Ford that I had and really loved the look. I'm thinking I can buy a set of lights either new from somewhere or out of a junkyard off of a pickup but I'm unsure how to go about installing them. I'm guessing you have to drill some holes in the cab and go from there.

Anyone added lights to the top of a Toyota like I'm talking about? If so was it difficult?

Thanks in advance.

I actually thought about doing that on my 94 but it looked pretty time consuming. I did install some on my old International Corn Binder. It had them on at one time but they all broke off and the holes were already there. It was pretty easy on that thing.

You owned an IH? Which one if you don't mind me asking? I had 2 77 Scout II's, one was the 304 gasser and the last one was the SD33-NA Nissan/Chrysler diesel. That diesel was a freaking monster. I've attached pics of the diesel for your enjoyment.

That's a great looking rig! Mind telling me how you mounted those lights? I could do something similar on my MC front end although they'd have to be higher up since I tend to use the front bumper to "slide" up rocks and other things.

Not bad PR man, eventually my plan is to LED the entire rig just need to get off my butt and start swapping lights.

Been off road recently? I hit a little mountain run last weekend and damn near rolled the runner. Silly rocks seem to think they have the right of way. *laugh*

Nothing lately. I missed the last run to Evans Creek last month due to the walking pneumonia. Weak. But the snow is here, we will be out and about soon enough.

The wife just got a new car, and they offer factory "puddle lights that light up the ground under the doors. Well, not wanting to pay $150 for 4 doors, I came across this and figure I can do all 4 doors PLUS the tailgate area for 50. I thought it looked pretty ricer, but it only comes on when the doors are unlocked. eh, whatever. Its her car. lol.

runs-on-4~ I'm actually planning on getting a visor also since I found a place that sells them. Are the lights installed in the visor or on top of it? I can't tell from the pictures.

yeehaw~ I'll end up doing an install thread when I get around to doing this.

Sounds good, lookin forward to it!

Also, I know this was directed to runs on 4, but all of the lighted visors I've ever seen have the lights built into them, his looks like they are too, to me anyway.
