BudBuilt Crossmember
I have a rubicon trip coming up this weekend and I was concerned about the crossmember (CM) and the little cheesy skid plate for the t-case. So I went ahead and bought a BudBuilt one. Well I must say that I very impressed with the quality. I did have to modify the CM, the front driveshaft was rubbing a little bit. It wasn't a huge deal, just a little trimming with a cutoff wheel. Here are some before and after pics.

This weekend will be the test, I will be sure to let you all know how it holds up.

Yeah it was a bit pricey 382 to the door.
I saw your thread after I ordered it, I plan on going duals in the future so I guess I will cross that bridge when I get to it.
I did Fordyce 2 weeks ago and the 1st water crossing was CRAZY!! A little to deep for me that day. I saw a Yota come through on 40+ tires, he took in water and was almost taken away but the current...lol... Have fun and don't forget to post some pics or it never happened...
They are on just haven't had time to take some pics. Mike I went with the BFG KM2s this time. My buddy had them on the last Rubi trip we went on and I was extremely impressed on how well they preformed. Don't worry I will post everything up when I get back.

I had a Budbuilt on my 80 pickup, that thing took a beating on a regular basis and never even noticed. I've heard of a FEW people on Pirate bending theirs but they are all a lot crazier than I ever got with my truck. I had that thing teetering on that skidplate a few times and nothing happened. I think you will be happy and the added ground clearance is sweet as well.

I bought a complete non running 86 SR5 4runner for $240 and it had one of those skidplates. Those short allen head bolts with the flush heads, you better put some oil or anti seize on the threads. I broke two allen sockets and bent two L shaped wrenches trying to take it apart. I ended up taking it to a machine shop to get the last 4 out.
