Broken 2nd gen rear folding seat pull tab
I broke one the pull tabs that lets you fold down the rear seats in my 2nd gen 4runner over the summer. I broke the actual metal rod about 1 1/2 inches from the pull tab I took the back carpeting off but I cant seem to access the the channel where the rod connects to the release latch. If someone has run into this problem or knows somewhere that has some info on it please let me know.
and if anyone knows of a way to fold that baby down until I can get it figured out that would be wonderful.

I thought about getting it unlatched then jamming the little clamp or w/e it is but I was hoping to replace it. In the mean time pliers should work fine. if I can find a pair skinny enough to get down there.

I broke both of mine. I cut off the broken bit and stuck it back on. I think it was pre-drilled, but it wouldn't be hard to drill yourself.
It looks good and works %100 after taking off the bottom 1/2".

I think mine broke off to deep inside the seat to do what you did.
Does anyones know if there is an easy way to access the channel that the rod is in?
