Question Brakes Pulling To Passenger Side, 2nd gen 4runner

I've got a 92 4runner 3.0 4x4 5spd.

Over the weekend, I replaced my warped rotors, put in some new brake pads, swapped out my ADD hubs for some Aisin hubs, and found out that my passenger side caliper was bad. One of the pistons was stuck in its bore. I replaced the caliper with a new one from autozone. put it all back together. bled the brakes. Now the truck pulls to the passenger side when i'm braking.

is it possible that the new passenger side caliper is stronger than the driver's side since i didn't replace the driver's side? If so, that means that I should replace the driver's side caliper? any ideas on what else should I check?

wouldnt surprise me at all if you had a sticky piston (or 2) in the drivers side.

so your getting more breaking power out of the new one than the old ....

replace the drivers or rebuild if you can find a kit, its not THAT hard.

I just did this, except on the driver's side and had the same problem. I believe you are right, the new caliper is stronger than the old one. The good news is that the problem seems to have gone away, and it is stopping straight now. I did have the steering relay rod done, and an alignment, so you may want to have that checked.

Thanks everyone. I too had the steering rod recall thing done and an alignment on Toyota's buck. I'll do the other caliper this weekend and let you all know of the results.

i would say it is definitely that -- the new/good caliper is compensating for the weak one and it's pulling. i had the same situation and replaced both calipers this spring; problem solved.

good luck.

[edit: just noticed that you already got it fixed! nice! ]
