Bouncing cold start idle…thermostat sticking ??????

About 25-30 degrees this morning. Bouncing cold start idle. Also higher than normal. Went to pull it out this morning and as soon as I let the clutch out it would have no power. To the point it stalled on me 2 times trying to take off. Temp gauge said it was warm/normal but still blowing cold air through vents. Stuck closed?

after getting off work tonight and it was a little warmer today. About 50 degrees. Where truck would normally start increasing on temp gauge it was buried at cold. Cold air through vents until temp gauge almost bounced to normal. Then warmer air started coming out. Stuck open???

im going to check the rad tomorrow morning and see if fluid is moving immediately or if doesn’t move at all even at warm up.

Blowing cold air could possibly be thermostat stuck open, or the coolant level is low. Stuck closed engine is going to turn into a fireball!

I just figured since it’s winter time and I’m literally driving not even 5 minutes to work and back that the fireball thing doesn’t have a chance to evolve ?

Could be air in the cooling system too. Check all your water hose connections and coolant sensor locations. If they look ok pressure test your cooling system or try burping it. Definitely check your coolant level first before digging in.
