So I have a 1989 (first gen) 4runner with auto trans and 3.0. I have been restoring the body with the intent to swap it to a 1996 3.4 manual trans 4runner frame. Now if that swap is too hard or impossible I'm open to getting a first gen 4runner with manual trans and 22re.

I don't have a welder or a ton of fab experience. I'm getting close to being done with the body resto and want to know which option would be my best bet.

 

Any body swap masters out there?!?

 

wheelbase is different i think.

if so you will need to swap the 3.4 running gear to the 1st gen.
google it.

3.4 is a great motor.
