Body Lift Snag

The snag has to do with the steering shaft opening in the firewall. Well, I finally got around to doing the 3" lift I was planning to do for a long time. Even with the instructions from 4crawler.com it was an adventure...
Most problems I encountered were fixed by either a drill, grinder, hammer, prybar, etc. This forum was a great help too. One problem I can't seem to find a solution for though...
When I went to put the steering extention on I noticed that the shaft needed to be lowered more than the opening in the firewall would allow. I ended up removing the "boot holder" (the rubber boot aparently was no longer there any way) and breaking the metal with a pry bar and hammer and bending the metal back to lower the steering shaft enough to not rub on anything. What I want to do is put some sort of boot back in there. There seems to be water getting in to the foot well and I think I may have found out why... (My muddy and wet work boots might have been another)
But with the "modifications" I made, ordering the part might be a problem. Any suggestions?? I'll try and post a pix to show what I did later.
